For Members

On November 19th, we held the 66th annual meeting! Present members voted on several important topics:

• To discontinue the phone service, as the sustaining charges mean virtually no savings with just activating for the winter. Players will need to arrive a few minutes early to turn on the heat.

• To accept Jim Zug’s invitation to establish a reciprocal relationship with the Great Billings club, a freestanding squash court in Northampton City, England. Historical Fact: The squash instructor on the Titanic was Fred Wright, who came from the Great Billings Club.  Ergo, ASC&DC now could have lineage to the Titanic!

• Resolved to send a congratulatory note to Mohammed El Shorbaggy on his 50th PSA title win

• Resolved to reach out to BRI to see if there’s interest in another joint match with Squash West.

Other discussions included:

• Bryan Lake was thanked for several years of service and Gavin Key was welcomed as the new Treasurer.

• Looking into alternative insurance, led by John Catlin

• A historic unveiling of a website for the club provided by an anonymous donor and orchestrated by Gavin’s creativity. 

• And of course… Doug Brown led the meeting in an extraordinarily discordant rendition of the Fireman’s Band song.  Each year, we imagine that the voices cannot sound worse…but they do!
